Restaurants and bars prepare for Lions crowds
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Bars and restaurants were expected to be packed Sunday for the Detroit Lions’ playoff game. Some restaurants even added themed items to the menu.
Eric Albertson, the owner of SpeakEZ Lounge, said his restaurant is typically filled with soccer fans, but they will be having a different kind of football on the television.
The lounge has 10 televisions that will have the sound on. They will be playing the Lions’ fight song every time the team scores. The restaurant usually closes at 2 p.m., but they are extending brunch until 3 p.m. The bar will be open during the game and snacks will be served until halftime.

“At SpeakEZ, not only are we the fútbol bar, in terms of soccer, we also support Detroit sports,” Albertson said. “We’re really excited to host a viewing party for beloved Detroit Lions because I’ve been waiting for this one for a long time.”
Below are a few of the many bars and restaurants that held watch parties.
