New restaurants coming soon, an exotic new events space and more in Evansville food news

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — We're bringing you Tri-State restaurant happenings and food news you need to know. Check out this weekly feature to keep up to date on the latest.

Carson's Brewery will be closing at the end of 2021. Owner Jason Carson cited difficulties caused by COVID, including distribution problems and customers gathering less for events at the tap room. Head over before or on New Year's Eve to drink a last Carson's beer and say goodbye.

Ghost West, a new Ghost Quesadilla, will be opening Tuesday, Jan. 4 on the West Side. On Monday, Jan. 3, first responders are invited to bring in a guest for a free meal as a soft opening. Expect to see delicious and creative quesadillas, tacos, burritos and rice bowls just like at the Newburgh location with ingredients such as pulled pork barbecue, grilled steak and chicken, shrimp, macaroni and cheese and many more.

Ghost West will be at 5501 Pearl Drive.

The Let’s Get Fried truck will be up from Madisonville, Ky. at Myriad Brewing Company on New Year’s Eve, Friday, Dec. 31, from 5-8:30 p,m. Myriad regularly hosts food trucks but we don’t see the Let’s Get Fried truck, which won the people’s choice award and tied for two other awards at this year’s Evansville Food Truck Festival, in town very often. The menu includes fried goodies such as funnel cake cheesecake, loaded nachos, roasted vegetable medley and more.

The Yak & Yeti restaurant now has a banquet room where your larger party may enjoy food from Himalayan momo dumplings and thukpa noodle soup to curries and tandoori dishes from India. Call for reservations.
