What restaurants and grocery stores are open Thanksgiving Day in Sumner County?

Several on-the-go and sit-down restaurants remain open for Thanksgiving Day in Sumner County, but specific store hours may vary between locations. Well known spots include Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Starbucks and Waffle House.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store begins breakfast at 7 a.m. The restaurant's traditional lunch menu and Thanksgiving Day only Turkey N’ Dressing spread with homestyle sides and pumpkin pie – now available for preorder – runs from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m.

The Heat N’ Serve Feast comes with everything for Thanksgiving dinner, goes from oven to table in two hours and is available for preorder to be picked up between Nov. 18 and Nov. 25 at 1005 Village Green Crossing in Gallatin, 235 Long Hollow Pike in Goodlettsville and 213 Indian Lake Blvd in Hendersonville.

For those who may be traveling or craving a pumpkin spice latte, most Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks locations will be open Thanksgiving Day. While most Dunkin Donuts will be open from 4 a.m. until 1 p.m., Starbucks' hours will vary greatly between locations on Thanksgiving Day.

Starbucks will be open from 4:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. in Gallatin (875 Nashville Pike) and Goodlettsville (330 Cartwright St). Starbucks at 201 W Main St in Hendersonville will be open from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. Starbucks at 305 Indian Lake Blvd #100 in Hendersonville will be open from 5 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. Starbucks at 1017 Glenbrook Way in Hendersonville will be open from 5 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Cooking linner (a meal that falls between lunch and dinner) for a dozen or more people can be daunting and produce an enormous amount of dirty dishes. So, not having to cook breakfast might seem like a win for most folks.

Breakfast spots like Denny's, IHOP and Waffle House are all open on Thanksgiving Day.

Waffle House will remain open 24 hours on Thanksgiving Day in Gallatin (644 Nashville Pike), Goodlettsville (941 Conference Dr) and Hendersonville (241 E Main St and 1090 W Main St).

On the road and need to stop someplace for a quick bite? Whataburger locations are open 24 hours on Thanksgiving Day, including 1123 Nashville Pike in Gallatin.

Applebees, Buffalo Wild Wings, Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen, Demo's Restaurant, Chili's Grill and Bar, O'Charley's Restaurant and Bar, Logan's Roadhouse, LongHorn Steakhouse, Olive Garden Italian Restaurant, Carrabba's Italian Grill, Five Guys and many more restaurants will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.

Even if you plan on eating Thanksgiving at home, ingredients can run out or be forgotten, altogether. Know where to go in a pinch on Thanksgiving Day?

Several grocery stores will be open, but some may have limited hours. Here's what to know about local and chain grocery stores in the area.

Dollar General: All Dollar General stores in the county, including two in Bethpage (2716 Hwy 52 E and 100 Old Hwy 31 E #3), two in Castalian Springs (3106 Hartsville Pike and 6100 US-231), one in Cottontown (2559 Highway 25), five in Gallatin (1270 Hartsville Ln, 142 Albert Gallatin Ave, 230 W Broadway, 1789 Airport Rd and 1620 Green Lea Blvd), five in Goodlettsville (1036 Louisville Hwy, 850 Springfield Hwy, 315 N Main St, 100 Mission Ridge and 1213 Dickerson Rd), three in Hendersonville (211 W Main St, 287 New Shackle Island Rd and 104 Brittan St) and one in Westmoreland (100 Mallard Sunrise Dr) will be open from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m.

Other stores in Portland (1070 N Broadway, 914 S Broadway, 9056 TN-52, 706A Hwy 52 W E and 133 Roberts Rd) and White House (2907 Hwy 31 W) will also be open from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m.

Kroger: Stores in Gallatin (845 Nashville Pike and 2011 Nashville Pike), Goodlettsville (123 Northcreek Blvd), Hendersonville (237 E Main St and 1010 Glenbrook Way) and White House (510 Hwy 76 E) will be open from 6 a.m. until 3 p.m. Pharmacies will be closed Thanksgiving Day.

Food Lion: Stores in Gallatin (471 E Main St) and Portland (304 S Broadway St) will close at 3 p.m.

H.G. Hill Food Store: The Gallatin location at 200 W Broadway will be open from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. The Goodlettsville location at 212 Goodlettsville Plaza will be open from 7 a.m. until noon.

Cash Saver: Stores in Hendersonville (213 W Main St) and Portland (112 W Knight St) will be open from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Mike's Foodland: The Westmoreland location at 1198 New Hwy 52 E will be open from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Price Less Foods: The Westmoreland location at 5716 Austin Peay Hwy will be open from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Aldi, Costco, Publix, Sam's Club, Target, Walmart and other grocery stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, allowing store associates a chance to spend the holiday with loved ones, officials said.
