These restaurants opened in Miami during 2020. We predict a lot of eating in 2021

2020 has been the year of the COVID-19 pandemic, but that fact hasn’t stopped restaurants from opening in and around Miami.

Even earlier in the year, when we had no idea how bad it would get and for how long, new restaurants popped up all across the county.

And that hasn’t changed as we close in on 2021. Even more new places are there for your dining pleasure, whether you’re in South Beach, Coral Gables or Aventura.

Here are some of the new restaurants that opened their doors to feed the people this year.

Updated: These Miami restaurants are permanently closed after the COVID-19 pandemic

In December, Marcus Samuelsson finally opened his long-awaited Red Rooster in Overtown, a replica of his famous Harlem spot.

Doral Yard has an outdoor canopy with string lights and picnic tables evoking the late, lamented Wynwood Yard and several vendors from whom to order food and drink.

Ike’s Love and Sandwiches

This San Francisco native opened in Aventura with Miami-themed sandwiches named after Pitbull, Crockett and Tubbs.

2 Korean Girls

This takeout-and-delivery only spot in Coconut Grove serves all kinds of bibimbap.
