It's foodie Friday with a scoop of sad news to start. The Highlands bar The Wiggle Room is closing on Aug. 6 after seven months of operation, and Yang Kee Noodle is closing its last remaining Louisville location.

Local restaurants with menus under $10 ― Everything is expensive and it's too hot to cook. Here are 10 locally-owned Louisville restaurants where you can grab a meal for $10. You're welcome.

Flavorful Caribbean food ― This restaurant on Poplar Level Road is easy to miss, and it shouldn't be. It has a sauce so good that it's named after the sound people make when they try it: "Ohh Yeahh!" This menu has a bit of everything: red snapper, oxtails, rib tips, corn on the cob and more. The owners even serve vegetables from their own garden.

Ode to Fried Chicken ― Can any food top good old-fashioned Kentucky fried chicken? National Fried Chicken Day was the other day and we took some time to celebrate it. And also to tell you where you should grab some awesome fried chicken around town. Maybe you'll find your new go-to spot.

Senor Arepa plans its second locationOlé Hospitality Group plans to open a second location of the fast-casual Señora Arepa restaurant at 117 St. Matthews Ave. This restaurant serves Venezuelan arepas, corn cakes with a variety of fillings. One of the most popular items is the "Pabellon" arepa, filled with sweet plantains, black beans, queso and shredded steak.
