7 Brew Coffee
Arkansas-based 7 Brew Coffee plans at least three area locations — two in Jacksonville and a third in Neptune Beach, city and state public records show. The double-lane, drive-thrus are planned for Gerona Drive East at Beach Boulevard as well as Normandy Boulevard at Normandy Village Parkway and at 1223 Atlantic Blvd. in Neptune Beach. The Jacksonville-area stores would be among a major expansion throughout Florida by the company. | Read more
Cabana Beach Club Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa
A new rooftop restaurant on the beach will debut this fall at Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa in Ponte Vedra Beach. It will be on the second and third floors of an all-new venue at the resort's Cabana Beach Club. The restaurant will feature fresh seafood, small plates, elevated cocktails and a selection of fine wines, as well as "spectacular" views of the ocean, the resort said in a June 15 news release. | Read more
Cousins Maine Lobster
More than five months after abruptly closing, Cousins Maine Lobster in Neptune Beach announced it plans to reopen its restaurant on Oct. 17 at its original location, 630 Atlantic Blvd. Suite 14 in Neptune Beach. The restaurant, featured in a 2021 episode of “Shark Tank,” announced its reopening in a Sept. 23 Facebook post. | Read more
Crumbl Cookies
Crumbl Cookies, the nationwide gourmet cookie and ice cream shop popular on TikTok, is expanding its footprint in the Jacksonville area with three new stores on track to open by the end of the year, franchise owner Steve Seegmiller told the Times-Union on May 1. That will bring the number of the city's Crumble Cookies to five. The new stores include 9526 Argyle Forest Blvd. in Argyle Plantation Center, 572 Marsh Landing Parkway at South Beach Parkway shopping center in Jacksonville Beach and East San Marco, at 2039 Hendricks Ave. at the Publix-anchored East San Marco project. | Read more
Dick Mondell's Burgers & Fries
Gainesville-based Dick Mondell's Burger & Fries plans to open its second Florida restaurant at 1177 Third St. S. in Jacksonville Beach. The menu focuses on locally sourced, sustainable and fresh ingredients. It will serve beef and chicken burgers, salads and sides in their home kitchens. About half of their offerings are vegan-or vegetarian. | Read more
The Dolly Llama Waffle Master
Offering artisanal bubble or Belgian waffles filled with ice cream featuring custom toppings, The Dolly Llama Waffle Master opened Sept. 10 at 830 A1A N. in Tournament Plaza in Ponte Vedra Beach. It is the first in Florida and the East Coast by the Los Angeles-based chain that debuted in 2017 and is expanding nationwide. A serenely smiling llama wearing sunglasses serves as its mascot and namesake. | Read more
Foxtail Coffee Co
Freshly brewed coffee, espresso and teas along with gourmet ice cream top the menu of the newly opened Foxtail Coffee at 260 Tourside Drive at Sawgrass Village shopping center in Ponte Vedra Beach. It's the first of two Northeast Florida Foxtail Coffee shops. The second will be in East San Marco, the long-planned, Publix-anchored retail center under construction at Atlantic Boulevard and Hendricks Avenue in Jacksonville's historic San Marco. | Read more
Grumpy's Restaurant
With three Northeast Florida restaurants open and another set for Yulee, Grumpy's Restaurant announced plans to open a diner in Neptune Beach in August 2022. The restaurant will be at 200 3rd St. at the former Kamiya 86 location. The new 4,000-square-foot restaurant will employ about 50 people. | Read more
Jersey Mike's Subs
Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced and fresh grilled subs, opened its newest Jacksonville area store on May 11 at 763 Atlantic Blvd., in Atlantic Beach. It joins a dozen other Jersey Mike's shops in the area. The Atlantic Beach restaurant is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m daily.
Los Andes Restaurant
Los Andes Restaurant opened its second restaurant on Labor Day at 335 Marsh Landing Parkway in South Beach Parkway Plaza in Jacksonville Beach. Known for its Argentinean and Peruvian fare, the new restaurant joins the original restaurant at 10916 Atlantic Blvd. in Justin Plaza in Jacksonville.
O-Ku Jacksonville Beach
O-Ku Jacksonville Beach opened on Feb. 4 at 502 First Street North. The upscale restaurant with its rooftop bar celebrates authentic Asian cuisine with a regional approach. It showcases unique as well as local ingredients and sophisticated presentations. | Read more
Refinery Jax Beach
A short rib tomahawk steak and other "refined fare" top the fine dining menu of Refinery Jax Beach — a multi-concept oceanfront restaurant that also features a marketplace and lounge, cafe, pub and live music. The Refinery opened Labor Day at 831 1st St. N. in Jacksonville Beach. It's in the two-story building that previously housed Seachasers Lounge and a former restaurant of Jacksonville celebrity chef Kenny Gilbert. | Read more
Salumeria 104
Miami-based Salumeria 104, a trattoria-style restaurant specializing in salumi plates and traditional homemade Italian dishes, plans to take over the spot at 60 Ocean Blvd. It is replacing longtime favorite Ocean 60, which has closed. The new restaurant will be the third for Salumeria 104, which debuted a decade ago in Miami and added a second restaurant in 2018 in nearby Coral Gables. | Read more
Sierra Grille
A Jacksonville Beach mainstay for 26 years, Sierra Grille is bringing its freshly made Tex-Mex menu to Atlantic Beach in an expansion of a family-owned restaurant enterprise. Sierra Grille Atlantic Beach hopes to open by May at 1021 Atlantic Blvd., Robert "Randall" Bruce, managing member of Sierra Grille Atlantic Beach LLC, told the Times-Union. Sharing a similar menu, the Atlantic Beach and Jacksonville Beach restaurants will be about six miles apart. | Read More
Singleton's Seafood Shack
Singleton's Seafood Shack, a Mayport Village institution for more than a half-century, reopened July 20 after being closed for repairs and renovations that spanned two years. The rustic waterfront restaurant at 4728 Ocean St. is widely known for its fresh-from-the-dock-to-the-table shrimp, oysters, crabs, triggerfish, grouper, and other seafood. | Read more
SoNapa Grille
Celebrating the cuisine and vintages of Northern California wine country, SoNapa Grille opened its first Northeast Florida restaurant on March 25 at 2400 3rd St. S. in Jacksonville Beach. With a chef-inspired menu, it joins two sister restaurants in New Smyrna Beach and Ormond Beach. The Jacksonville Beach restaurant replaces Roy's, a Hawaiian fusion restaurant, that closed abruptly last June after 18 years. | Read more
Whiskey Jax Kitchen & Cocktails
Whiskey Jax Kitchen & Cocktails opened its new Atlantic Beach location on March 16. The gastropub moved to 725 Atlantic Blvd. in North Beach Shopping Center from its previous location at 950 Marsh Landing Parkway in Marsh Landing Plaza in Jacksonville Beach. Restaurant owner Tom Fisher previously told the Times-Union the move was an effort to expand and attract more customers to the restaurant and live music venue. | Read more
