Restaurants, wireless store planned for former Ruby Tuesday's in Moosic

Jun. 6—Two eateries and a wireless store are planned for a building on Montage Mountain in Moosic.

Restaurant chains Jersey Mike's Subs and Five Guys intend to establish shops at 15 Radcliffe Drive, along with AT&T which will relocate from its current spot at the nearby Shoppes at Montage, borough officials said Tuesday.

The location used to house a former Ruby Tuesday restaurant.

Moosic Borough Administrator Jane Sterling believes the new stores will provide a boost to the area.

"It will certainly promote more jobs," she said. "It's good for the economy and it's good for the Shoppes at Montage."

A customer relations representative for Jersey Mike's said the Moosic restaurant remains under construction. A note on the company's website says the shop is "scheduled to open soon."

Jersey Mike's currently has locations in Dickson City, Tunkhannock Twp. and Wilkes-Barre Twp.

Jersey Mike's officials will go before the borough's zoning board of adjustments June 14 to request a variance to erect two building signs and a free-standing sign, Sterling said.

Locally, Five Guys has locations in Dickson City and Wilkes-Barre Twp. A job listing for an assistant restaurant manager at the Moosic location was posted on the company's website.

Erica Rupert, store lead of the AT&T shop inside the Shoppes, anticipates their move will occur in July.

Christopher T. Powell, solicitor of the Moosic Borough Council Planning Commission, also looks forward to the new businesses opening in the borough.

"That's going to be a real great thing," Powell said. "I can't wait to go up there to eat."
