Retail theft sting nets 10 arrests in Huntington Beach

An operation to combat retail theft in Huntington Beach led to the arrests of 10 suspects, police announced Wednesday.

The operation took place in the Bella Terra area over two days on Friday, January 12 and Sunday, January 21, the Huntington Beach Police Department stated in a news release.

The following suspects were arrested and booked for various charges, including felonies, police said.

  • Julie Davis, 44, of Orange

  • Daniel Domingo, 35, of Anaheim

  • David Dunne, 41, of Los Alamitos

  • Ricky Guzman, 38, of Garden Grove

  • Lao Hoang, 69, of Irvine

  • Kraig Hurley, 33, of Garden Grove

  • Marquis Serna, 29, of Anaheim

  • David Sponheim, 40, of Los Alamitos

  • Jennifer Watson, 51, of Anaheim

  • Nicholas Young, 35, of Orange

Stolen property was said to have been recovered during the operation, which was organized by police in collaboration with retailers in the Bella Terra area, including Nordstrom Rack, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Costco Wholesale, REI, Kohl’s, Ulta Beauty, Old Navy, and Burlington.

“Operations like these highlight our dedication to protecting businesses and residents from the impact of retail theft,” the police department stated in the news release.

Business owners and residents were urged to report criminal activity by calling the Police Department at 714-960-8825 or 911 in case of emergency.
