J. Crew store to open Friday in St. Matthews
A new J. Crew Factory store is opening its doors at a St. Matthews shopping center Friday, a sales associate from the J. Crew store at Simpsonville said.
The new clothing outlet will open in the Shelbyville Road Plaza, a complex near the Mall St. Matthews that includes other shops like Nordstrom Rack and Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse.
The store will be located at 4600 Shelbyville Road and is estimated to occupy 7,732 square feet of space, according to the permit filed with Louisville Metro. The project is expected to cost $445,000.
The store will have departments for women, men and kid's crewcuts along with private shopping appointments and in-store pickup, according to the J. Crew website.
The store will open Sundays between noon and 6 p.m. and Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Lauren Sawyer from the J. Crew offices said.
The new store will stand as Kentucky's second J. Crew Factory shop. The other store is located at The Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass in Simpsonville, just east of Louisville.
The new store will join several other recent developments at the Shelbyville Road Plaza. The ownership group behind the new J. Crew Factory also filed a permit on July 19 for a new Old Navy store planned to open in the shopping center and also filed a zoning confirmation in May for a new salon called Waxxpot.
