Retained by Auburn football, coach Bryan Harsin makes appearance in basketball student section

AUBURN — One day after being retained by Auburn at the end of a week-long internal investigation, football coach Bryan Harsin made a public appearance at the Auburn basketball game against Texas A&M.
Harsin joined the student section for a few minutes during the first half and was shown on the big screen. At a media timeout, the students chanted his name.
Harsin's tenure was being weighed by the university after one season in charge. His harsh mentality that contributed to extensive coach and player turnover was among the issues under the microscope. Harsin finished 6-7 in his first season and ended on a five-game losing streak. During this offseason, the Tigers have 19 outgoing transfers and four assistant coach replacements.
Auburn president Jay Gogue announced Friday in an open letter that the school is keeping Harsin.

"I am pleased to report that the evaluation of concerns raised regarding our football program is complete," Gogue wrote in the letter. "I am equally pleased to confirm that Bryan Harsin remains our head football coach. As an institution of higher education, Auburn will always take the action necessary to ensure the well-being of its students, faculty and staff. Recently, individuals raised concerns to my administration about the football program. The nature of these concerns compelled a fact-finding review. To do nothing would have been an abdication of the university’s responsibilities."
Harsin also joined Auburn basketball's student section, known as The Jungle, during the Tigers' game against Kentucky in January
