Sep. 26—HENDERSON — A new assisted living community named Bridges on Parkview begins development with a groundbreaking ceremony on Oct. 6.

Bridges on Parkview bills itself as a luxury home "modeled after five-star hotels complete with state-of-the-art facilities, well-appointed accommodations and hospitality at its finest," according to ALG Senior Communications Manager Richard Gould.

The community will provide its 100 residents amenities like a private spa, cable TV, beauty salon and barber shop. A team of workers will perform a weekly deep cleaning on top of day-to-day work. ALG is looking to hire around 54 care, dietary and maintenance workers to staff the facility.

The price of admission will be around $4,000 a month for private suites and $3,500 for semi-private suites. The latter have shared bathrooms but private rooms. All rooms will have individual climate control. These prices aren't set in stone yet, as there are still industry standards the facility will have to meet and market changes to account for.

Other retirement communities bill their clients for "every item of personal care" administered during a given month, so clients' monthly rates fluctuate based on what amenities they use, ALG Senior Sales Strategist Michael Howell said.

"For us, it's all-inclusive," said Gould. "The number is what it is."

Howell is an employee of ALG Senior, the corporation overseeing the project. Come September 2023, he will lead Bridges on Parkview's marketing and sales team. Retirement communities manage themselves independently whilst ALG Senior handles communications and human resources.

The facility will adhere to state and local COVID-19 guidelines in place in 2023.

ALG Senior was once Affinity Living Group before a rebrand in 2020. It is based in Hickory.

Mayor Eddie Ellington, other members of the City Council and members of the Chamber of Commerce will likely attend next Thursday's ceremony, which will take place at 105 Parkview Drive East at 11 a.m.
