Rev. Billy Graham's Christian magazine wants Donald Trump removed. Can we get an 'Amen!'
The evangelist Rev. Billy Graham established the periodical Christianity Today in 1956.
It describes itself as being “regarded worldwide as the leading evangelical publication for news and opinion” that “reaches over five million Christian leaders monthly through its printed pages, ChristianityToday.com and a wide array of other print and digital resources.”
In an editorial published online Thursday, Christianity Today called for President Donald Trump to be removed from office.
It called Trump a “near perfect example of a human being who is morally lost and confused.”
Loyalty to the Creator, not to Trump
Here are a few things the editorial said:
“Let’s grant this to the president: The Democrats have had it out for him from day one, and therefore nearly everything they do is under a cloud of partisan suspicion …
“But the facts in this instance are unambiguous: The president of the United States attempted to use his political power to coerce a foreign leader to harass and discredit one of the president’s political opponents. That is not only a violation of the Constitution; more importantly, it is profoundly immoral ...
“The reason many are not shocked about this is that this president has dumbed down the idea of morality in his administration …
“None of the president’s positives can balance the moral and political danger we face under a leader of such grossly immoral character …
“That he should be removed, we believe, is not a matter of partisan loyalties but loyalty to the Creator of the Ten Commandments … .”
Graham's son condemned the editorial
Billy Graham's son, Franklin, who has aligned himself with Trump, condemned the editorial, saying, “My father would be embarrassed. It is not going to change anybody’s mind about Trump. There’s a liberal element within the evangelical movement. Christianity Today represents that.”
On the other hand, Franklin's late father might be embarrassed by ... him. On that, only God knows.
A far left magazine, or very “progressive,” as some would call it, which has been doing poorly and hasn’t been involved with the Billy Graham family for many years, Christianity Today, knows nothing about reading a perfect transcript of a routine phone call and would rather.....

....have a Radical Left nonbeliever, who wants to take your religion & your guns, than Donald Trump as your President. No President has done more for the Evangelical community, and it’s not even close. You’ll not get anything from those Dems on stage. I won’t be reading ET again!

Or, as the Christianity Today editorial says:
“To the many evangelicals who continue to support Mr. Trump in spite of his blackened moral record, we might say this: Remember who you are and whom you serve. Consider how your justification of Mr. Trump influences your witness to your Lord and Savior.”
Amen to all that.
