Revere mayor critical of Boston's plan to clean up 'Methadone Mile'

Revere's mayor is criticizing Boston city officials’ plan to try to clean-up and remove people from Massachusetts Avenue and Melnea Cass Boulevard. It's also known as Methadone Mile. In a letter obtained by the Globe, Mayor Brian Arrigo pushed back on a proposal to convert a hotel in Revere to a transitional homeless center. Arrigo said he's frustrated by what he calls “disorganization” and a “lack of communication” by Boston. Mayor Kim Janey's office told the paper it is committed to a regional approach to try to help people in the area.
