'Revolting' food combination at Sydney Royal Easter Show causes uproar
Many online were quick to judge the strange mix of foods, but Bruno Bouchet insisted it was a must try.
A new "gimmick" has found its way to this year's Sydney Royal Easter Show in the form of a very interesting food combination, causing an uproar online ahead of the event's opening on Thursday.
Kyle Sandilands' manager Bruno Bouchet and his 5-year-old daughter gained early access on Wednesday to give social media users a sneak peak of what visitors can expect. However, not everyone was pleased by what they saw.
Posting a picture to Reddit, he wrote: "Sydney Easter Show’s latest food gimmick: Gummy Bear Loaded Fries."
That's right — a full basket, covered in novelty greaseproof paper, packed with fries and melted down gummy bears. Mr Bouchet told Yahoo News Australia his daughter "thought it was the greatest thing she's ever eaten" and encouraged him to remake her new favourite treat at home.
Social media responds: 'Plain disgusting'
Numerous Aussies took to Ms Bouchet's post to express their disgust for the "atrocious" mix of chips and lollies, believing it was a poor choice.
"Ok, I love novelty food as much as the next girl. But nah, that’s gross," one woman said, while another shared a similar sentiment. "Looks absolutely revolting. Definitely something my kids would beg for and then refuse to eat because it probably tastes as gross as it looks."
"It's like a unicorn spewed on some one's chips," a third wrote, while another agreed that Easter Show staff may be cleaning up some interestingly coloured vomit near the children's rides this year.

Other questioned how much the "monstrosity" would set a buyer back, however, Bruno explained he was fortunate enough to get the treat for free, leaving the question unanswered.
Despite the onslaught of disapproval, Bruno told Yahoo News Australia that people shouldn't make judgements before trying it for themselves. "I think you have to try it to have an actual opinion on it. Sure, on paper, the combination is too crazy, but once you actually try it, you have this ‘eureka’ moment," he said.
"You're like 'goddammit, it works!'"
