Columbus police are asking for help in locating a vehicle and driver involved in an August crash that left a teenager in critical condition in the hospital.

Around 9 p.m. on Aug. 3, Columbus police were called to the 5400 block of Town Hill Drive on the city's Southeast Side after a person was reported to have been struck by a vehicle.

Officers who responded to the scene found the area where it happened and a crowd of people. The victim, who police have not identified, had already been taken to an area hospital in critical condition. That victim remains hospitalized in critical condition more than three months later.

Detectives were able to determine the vehicle involved was a white Hyundai Elantra that was last seen in the Canal Winchester area. It likely had damage to the right front passenger side of the car.

No crash report has been uploaded to the state Department of Public Safety's database by Columbus police as of Nov. 23.

Anyone with information is asked to call Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS, use the free P3 Tips mobile application or provide information online at www.stopcrime.org. All tips to Crime Stoppers are anonymous and a special coding system is used to provide the reward.
