Reward offered after woman shot at while driving on Interstate 670 near Downtown
Central Ohio Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to the arrest of the people involved in a shooting on Interstate 670 near downtown Columbus.
Around 12:45 p.m. on June 27, Columbus police were called to the 2800 block of Fred Taylor Drive, located on the North Side, after a woman called police to say her vehicle had been struck by gunfire.
The woman told police that she had been driving west on I-670 near Exit 4B for Third and High streets when a navy blue Dodge Caravan pulled alongside the driver's side of the woman's vehicle and attempted to change lanes.
The woman told police there was no room for the van and she honked to alert the driver. The woman then saw the passenger side window go down on the van and heard a gunshot. The Dodge Caravan then exited the freeway at the Third and High streets exit.
The woman later discovered that the bullet that was fired had hit her vehicle on the rear driver's side, going through the backseat and lodging in the front passenger seat. The woman was not injured.
The Dodge Caravan had handicapped license plates and appeared to have been modified for a mobility chair. Photos from traffic cameras have confirmed that description.
