Former college and pro basketball player-turned-internet personality Rex Chapman is joining CNN and will host a show on its news streaming service, the network announced on Tuesday.

Chapman will host a weekly show on CNN+ that will include "intimate conversations with athletes, entertainers and everyday heroes as Chapman looks for the silver lining beyond today's toughest headlines," the outlet said. He will also appear on cable and CNN's various other platforms ahead of his show's launch.

In recent years, Chapman's videos on social media, often sent with a hint of witty or dry humor, have regularly racked up tens of thousands of views across the internet.

He comes to CNN from Adult Swim, where he was the host of "Block or Charge," which was based off of his series of viral tweets.

CNN has made a number of splashy hires ahead of the launch of CNN+, including top talent from competitors like Fox News, NBC and NPR.
