Reynoldsburg City Schools update: Plenty of work awaits in only year as superintendent

A new school year is upon us once again, and teachers, students and administrators are filling our hallways and classrooms.

This is far from my first year as an educator and superintendent; it is, however, my one and only at Reynoldsburg City Schools as interim superintendent.

I’m honored to have been asked by the board of education to lead this year and continue the mission, vision and values of such an impactful district of leaders and bright students. Thank you for a warm welcome, and I look forward to meeting more students, staff and families soon.

There’s no question this year will be another promising one. The brilliant and expert staff in each of our buildings, the dedicated and driven board of education and the supportive and involved families of our students are what make the Reynoldsburg experience a notable one.

We are maintaining our focus on students and fostering relationships. RCS will continue to work through the five-year strategic plan in place, align our resources for maximum impact where it matters most and build upon the district’s momentum of student success and personal growth.

It is paramount that our families, community partners and residents also have a clear insight to our work as a district and ample opportunity to engage. Trust and transparency between our district, board of education and our community will be a hallmark of our year together.

Public education affects every resident, business and organization in our city. Our schools provide critical services beyond education, our buildings act as a hub of activity and our students will become employees, business owners and residents themselves.

Whether or not you have students enrolled with RCS, what is happening in our school district affects you as a Reynoldsburg resident. And we want you to be as involved you would like because you, too, have a voice to share.

As we settle into the new school year, we'll be sharing invitations to attend community meetings with myself and members of the board of education and administrative team. We will gather feedback on the superintendent search set to begin in 2023 and the future direction of the district.

Thank you in advance for your support of our students, staff and schools. I’m confident this year will be brimming with new experiences, lightbulb moments and fulfilling endeavors.

RCS is ready and prepared. Our schools are filled with passionate educators. Together, we are #REYNProud!
