Reynoldsburg man charged with rape of 5-year-old girl

REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio (WCMH) – A Reynoldsburg man was arrested and charged with rape of a minor after the child was admitted to a hospital.

According to court documents, Reynoldsburg police responded to a report of a sexual assault when it was reported from the Pickerington Methodist Hospital. There, officers interviewed a 5-year-old girl and her mother, who said the girl was sexually abused at her home in Reynoldsburg.

The girl described actions that amounted to 31-year-old Douda Kane sodomizing and raping her. The girl was taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, where she was interviewed by a forensic nurse and again described the alleged abuse, which occurred Jan. 25.

Kane is charged with raping a minor under the age of 13 and had his Friday arraignment continued. On Monday, a Franklin County Municipal Court judge issued him a $600,000 bond. He is next scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 5.
