RFK dinner is Saturday

Sep. 21—GREENSBURG — Decatur County Democrats will gather Saturday evening for the 2023 RFK Dinner and Silent Auction at Greensburg's Hampton Inn, with social time and cash bar at 5:30 and dinner at 6 p.m.

Scheduled to speak is Deputy Chair of Coalitions and Expansion for the Indiana Democratic Party and 18 year military intelligence veteran in the U.S. Army Reserve Destiny Wells.

Wells has served in the Deputy Attorney General's office as an associate corporation Counsel for the City of Indianapolis and instructs for the Army Command and General Staff College.

Wells has received multiple Meritorious Service Medals, an Army Commendation Medal, and the Combat Action Badge.

She also serves on the Corporate Board of Directors of the Milk Bank, a nonprofit organization dedicated to community health by the collection and distribution of pasteurized donor human milk.

Wells holds degrees from Indiana University — Bloomington and the University of Texas School Of Law.

She and husband Oliver, also a military officer, live in downtown Indianapolis with their two sons, Owen and Harrison.

Also attending will be Democrat 9th District Chairman Adam Dickey and award winning children's and young adult books author Leah Johnson whose book "You Should See me in a Crown" was named by TIME magazine as one of the "Young Adult Books of All Time."

Hosting the event will be Decatur County Democratic Chair Chris Ramey and Decatur County Democratic Vice-Chair Hollie Payton.
