Rhode Island woman suffers life-threatening injuries in Milford crash

MILFORD — A Rhode Island woman suffered life-threatening injuries Tuesday after a two-car crash on Cedar Street (Route 85) as she attempted to turn her car onto an Interstate 495 on-ramp, authorities said.

The woman, identified in the Milford Police Department police log as Tiffany L. Harmon, 41, of Woonsocket, was taken to UMass-Memorial Medical Center in Worcester via medical rescue helicopter after the 5:30 p.m. crash, acting Police Chief James Falvey said Wednesday.

Falvey said the woman was turning her Nissan Rogue left off Cedar Street to get on the southbound ramp to Interstate 495. She turned in front of a BMW driven by Keegan Ohene, of Grafton, and the two cars collided, Falvey said.

“She (Harmon) was ejected from her vehicle upon impact,” the acting chief said. “She suffered suspected life-threatening injuries.”

Falvey did not have information about her condition. Her condition was unavailable at UMass.

Ohene suffered apparent minor injuries and was taken to Milford Regional Medical Center for treatment. His passenger, a woman, declined medical treatment, Falvey said.

The crash is being investigated by the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement accident reconstruction team.

Falvey said no one has been charged or cited.

“The priority is to save a life and worry about that other stuff later,” he said.
