'RHONJ' Star Joe Giudice's Request To Be Released From ICE Custody Denied

"RHONJ" star Teresa Giudice may have to spend the holidays alone because her husband, Joe, will stay locked up in ICE custody until a decision in his deportation case has been made.

The news comes after Joe's lawyer requested he be released in order to spend time with his family after being in an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainment center since March.

According to PEOPLE, that request has been denied.

“Joe is extremely disappointed,” the family's attorney told the outlet.

“He spent the last six months in a cage not able to hug or kiss his wife or daughters when they came to visit him. We treat animals in shelters better than we treat human beings in these ICE facilities.”

Joe has been apart from his family for quite some time.

After serving a 41-month sentence in prison for mail, wire and bankruptcy fraud, he was transferred to the Clinton County Correctional Facility in Pennsylvania.

As The Blast reported, Joe was fighting to stay in America during his deportation case.

In May, he won the appeal halting the reality star from being sent back to Italy while the case is ongoing.

He was hopeful the court would permanently stop his deportation, but this new information is definitely a set back.

Although, he moved to the United States as a child, Joe never obtained his US citizenship.

Joe and Teresa have four daughters together -- Gia, 18, Gabriella, 15, Milania, 14, and Audriana, 10.
