The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City premiered back in November 2020, and Bravo fans are still obsessing over the cast. One cast member in particular who is getting a lot of attention is Jen Shah, but it's not all positive lately. (More on that in a sec.)

She made waves for converting from Mormonism to Islam after meeting her husband, Sharrieff Shah, and it’s a major part of her official Bravo profile. In the show’s season premiere, Jen talked about how meeting her football coach husband, who is Muslim, in college totally changed her view of religion. She eventually converted to Islam.

But who is Sharrieff Shah, exactly? Here’s what you need to know about this RHOSLC hubby:

Jen was indicted for fraud, but it doesn't appear Sharrieff was involved.

Jen and her assistant Stuart Smith were arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud on March 30, per The Salt Lake Tribune. They “allegedly generated and sold lead lists of innocent individuals for other members of their scheme to repeatedly scam," according to a statement from Manhattan U.S. Attorney Audrey Strauss. They’ve allegedly been operating the telemarketing scheme since 2012 and could face a maximum prison sentence of 30 years.

Sharrieff wasn't mentioned, but it will likely have an effect on their relationship and may show up in season two of RHOSLC.

Sharrieff is a former football player.

Jen's husband played football for the University of Utah. He started for three seasons as a safety "before he incurred a career-ending neck injury three games into his senior season," according to his University of Utah profile. He was also really good: Not only was Sharrieff team captain, but he was also an honorable mention all-Western Athletic Conference safety in 1991 and 1992, and was named the Sports Illustrated National Defensive Player of the Week in 1991.

He also ran track in college.

Sharrieff wasn’t ~just~ a football player: He also ran indoor track for the University of Utah, competing in the 60-yard dash and long jump from 1990 to 1992.

He met Jen in college, too.

“When I met my wife in college, it was fantastic. I never in my life, in my life, seen anybody as pretty in my life,” Sharrieff explained in the December 30 episode of RHOSLC. “And I said, ‘Well, would you like to go out?’ And she said, ‘Yes, but I’ll bring my cousins with me.’ You girls roll deep.”

Sharrieff also used to be a lawyer.

He spent 12 years as an attorney, first as a commercial litigator with Parsons, Behle & Latimer, and then as a trial attorney with Siegfried & Jensen. (He specialized in medical malpractice and catastrophic automobile accidents, BTW.)

He was also a certified sports agent.

While he was still a lawyer, Sharrieff was a certified agent through the NFL Player Association from 1996 through 2002.

Sharrieff even worked as a football analyst.

Yep, he was a sideline reporter for Utah’s flagship radio station ESPN 700 from 2000 through 2011 and also served as a sideline analyst for local television stations KUTV and KJZZ in their University of Utah broadcasts for three seasons.

He’s now a football coach.

Despite everything **gestures broadly** Sharrieff has done, it’s clear he’s really into football. Now, he’s in his 10th year of coaching for the University of Utah, according to his university profile. Sharrieff is the Utes' Cornerbacks/Co-Special Teams Coordinator.

Oh, and cool tidbit: In 2014, ESPN.com named him one of "10 coaches who adapt and thrive" given that he’s helped coach five cornerbacks who went on to play in the NFL.

He tweets about football a lot.

Like, it’s all he writes about. Sharrieff’s Instagram is private, but football stats and stories are pretty much all he tweets. Examples:

"Great work Burgess! Look how God is to you."

"These Sunday Utes were Saturday afternoon dawgs!! So proud to have coached both of these wonderful young [men]."

Sharrieff spends most of his time on the road, going to football games.

Sharrieff's busy work schedule has been hard for Jen. On a late December episode of RHOSLC, Jen opened up about her husband’s travel schedule has affected her, per People. "After my dad passed a year ago, and with [my husband] Sharrieff being gone all the time, I became very depressed," she said. "I had to go on medicine for anxiety and depression." At first, she wasn’t enthusiastic about the idea. "I was scared though, to get on medication. Like it was a sign of weakness."
