Ricardo Ramos' spinning back elbow KO highlights wild UFC prelims

There may be something in the water in Austin, judging from how the UFC's preliminary fights went Saturday at the Moody Center.

Among a cavalcade of wild first-round knockouts, a spinning back elbow from Ricardo Ramos at the expense of Danny Chavez stood out the most. The dazing blow simply came out of nowhere, and left Chavez dazed enough to end the fight.

This is actually the second time Ramos has landed such a strike, though, as the featherweight defeated Aiemann Zahabi with the exact same method at UFC 217 in 2017. He now has two of the five recorded spinning back elbow KOs in UFC history, per ESPN.

There was plenty of other violence to be seen. The event began with Roman Dolidze connecting a hard knee on Kyle Daukaus' dome less than a minute and a half into the fight.

Two fights later, Cody Stamann rained a flurry of punches and elbows upon Eddie Wineland for another quick end to a fight. The win snapped a three-fight losing streak for Stamann.

And then there was what Jeremiah Wells did to Court McGee. A hard left hook, again less than two minutes into the fight, left McGee horizontal.

All in all, only two of the seven fights on the preliminary card went to a decision, and four of them didn't go past the first two minutes. That's how you get things started.
