Richard Bland College of William & Mary fall festival: Shop, eat, dance, harvest pecans

PRINCE GEORGE — The Richard Bland College of William & Mary's 6th annual Pecan Festival takes place Saturday. Thousands attend the event each year for a day of family fun.

The community has an opportunity to harvest pecans, shop from over 100 vendors, and listen to local bands in RBC's pecan grove. Animal lovers may opt to visit the Teeny Tiny Farm Petting Zoo, and thrill seekers can choose to wind their way through the hay bale maze.

The Pecan Festival draws a variety of food, craft, beverage and product vendors from throughout the region. There will be an assortment of food trucks, beer and wine vendors, live music and activities for children.

The food vendors include Parson's Café and Catering, 526 Grille, Rockabilly BBQ, From The Heart Express, Generations Catering, Speedy Pops Concession, Asian Taste, Dogz N More, Sherri's Crab Cakes, Bishop's BBQ and Hau Lani Hawaiian Shaved Ice.

  • 10:45 - 11:45 a.m. Zack Artis

  • 11:50 - 11:55 a.m. Art of Rhythm Dance Academy

  • 11:55 a.m. - 12 p.m. Virginia Dance Academy

  • 12 - 12:05 p.m. Aspire Dance Academy

  • 12:05 - 2 p.m. Jimi King Trio

  • 2 - 5 p.m. Bustin' Loose

The fall festival supports student scholarships through the Richard Bland College Foundation.

RBC's pecan grove is considered one of Virginia's largest and oldest. It has nearly 1,000 pecan trees on its grounds. Each year the pecans are harvested and proceeds are used to advance student success and maintain the groves.

The Pecan Festival with free entry begins at 11 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. Richard Bland College of William & Mary is located at 11301 Johnson Road in Prince George County. Ample free parking is available.
