Richard Branson's daily routine: Blogging and 20 cups of tea

Billionaire Richard Branson sticks to a daily routine. But his usual day doesn't sound much like anyone else's.

The Virgin Group founder outlined his usual routine in a blog post and, predictably, it's bonkers.

Get up at 5 a.m.

The perfect time to start the day if you're a billionaire living in the British Virgin Islands.

Go kitesurfing

"I get out of bed and do some exercise – play a game of tennis, go for a walk or a run, jump on my bike, or if there’s enough wind, go for a kitesurf," Branson wrote. The traditional early morning activity!

Spend time with family

To feed the soul before really starting the day. Are they also up that early?

Stay connected

"I’m constantly connected and engaged," Branson wrote. "And I like it that way." Same.

Write blogs

Branson also uses his time early in the day to read the news, which spurs him to action to write his own commentary. Those blogs cover issues like the war on drugs, the refugee crisis and the death penalty, along with Branson's family photos and posts like the one about his daily routine.

Along with "writing blogs," Branson checks Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram. Also same.

Drink 20 cups of tea (!?)

Branson said he drinks 20 cups of tea a day to stay "energised," in the British parlance. Branson is staying energised for his many meetings, which he takes over lunch or while walking.

Write stuff down in a notebook

Branson says his "life hack" is to always have a notebook on hand to write down ideas, except, presumably, when kitesurfing or swimming.

Share stories and birth ideas

"My day normally wraps up with a group dinner, where stories are shared and ideas are born," Branson wrote.

Go to bed

At 11 p.m.

Good night!
