Richard Lewis will appear in new season of ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ after all

No one can say no to Larry David, not even Richard Lewis.

Lewis announced Thursday that he will make a triumphant return in season 11 of HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm” after saying earlier this year that multiple shoulder and back surgeries were forcing him to sit out this season.

“LD called me and asked if there was any chance if I felt strong enough to do one episode!” the Brooklyn-born comedian tweeted with a photo from set. ”I am and here I’m on the set to shoot it. I’m so grateful.”

Lewis, who plays a semi-autobiographical version of himself in the show created by and starring David, has appeared in nearly 40 episodes of the comedy series since it premiered in October 2000.

“Wish I was working today!” JB Smoove, who plays Larry’s housemate, Leon, responded to Lewis. “You look great!! Love ya!!”

Outside of “Curb,” Lewis, 73, has also appeared in “Robin Hood: Men in Tights,” “Leaving Las Vegas” and “7th Heaven.”

“Curb Your Enthusiasm” has earned 47 Emmy nominations and won two.
