Richard Simmons shares message about being made fun of: ‘I am glad to be me!’
(WJW) – Richard Simmons is sharing a message of confidence.
The “Sweatin’ to the Oldies” icon has recently been posting on social media after years out of the spotlight.

“For as long as I can remember, people have made fun of me. And people still to this day make fun of me,” Simmons posted.
“But you know what? I am glad to be me! And you should be glad that you are you,” he shared.
Simmons shared 3 songs that he says always get his spirits up.

“Three songs to listen to: ‘I Will Survive’… ‘I Am What I Am’… and … ‘This Is Me,’” he wrote.

“I Will Survive” is a Gloria Gaynor classic. “I am What I am” is a song from the 1983 Broadway hit La Cage aux Folles and “This Is Me” was the Oscar-nominated hit from The Greatest Showman.
“These songs will uplift you. Love, Richard,” he wrote.
Simmons recently started posting on social media to respond to the upcoming biopic about his life, saying he did not give permission for the film.
