Richlands man convicted on multiple counts of sexually assaulting children

RICHLANDS, VA (WVNS) — A man was convicted of multiple counts of sexual assaulting children.

According to J. Christopher Plaster, Tazewell County Commonwealth’s Attorney, Joshua Adam Keen, age 41, of Richlands, Virginia was found guilty by a jury on February 21, 2024, in the Tazewell County Circuit Court. He pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated sexual battery of a child under the age of thirteen, two counts of taking indecent liberties with a child by a custodian, and one count of forcible sodomy of a child under 13 years of age.

He also pleaded guilty to escaping custody after he was brought to a hospital in the area and decided to try and run out. Due to his actions, Keen was on the run for close to a year.

His sentencing is set for May 30, 2024 in the Tazewell County Circuit Court and faces a mandatory life sentence plus an additional 75 years in prison.
