In this position, starting July 1, Fowler will direct and facilitate the development and alignment of RCS' secondary instructional programs.

“Mr. Fowler’s deep roots within the Richmond/Wayne County area and his comprehension of our community’s needs will serve as an added bonus as we continue to build upon our professional learning community,” RCS Superintendent Curtis Wright said in the release. “We are confident that his experience, skill set and passion for selfless service will complement our RCS administrative team in a multitude of ways.”

A native of Wayne County, Fowler is returning to the area after moving up the educational ladder on the West Coast. He spent seven years as a teacher and another eight as a principal at Caruthers High School in Selma, California. Most recently, he worked as the high school principal of the Chawanakee Unified School District, not quite an hour drive north of Selma. The release states that Fowler always looked for ways to stay ahead of the curve, and his students "flourished" in many areas thanks to their "countless" opportunities.
