On Deck: The winner will play the winner of Southern and Mogadore in a district final at Norton on March 3 at 7 p.m.

For the record: The Spartans opened their title defense with a strong win over Lake Ridge. With their 43-game win streak intact, Richmond Heights looks to make it 44 in a row when they take on Open Door. With a three headed scoring attack of Dorian Jones (20 ppg), Demarris Winters (14.5 ppg, 75 threes) and Hosea Steele (15.7 ppg) , if the Patriots take one away, then the Spartans can easily turn to one of the other options. Steele and Jeremy Wilson are also strong on the boards with 10.2 and 9.2 rebounds a game. ... Open Door comes into the district round with their own three-pronged attack with Anthony Januzzi (16.3 ppg, 49 threes), RJ Penney (15.6 PPG) and Julius Moon (12.5 PPG). Moon and Aaron Pattee also are a good pair on the boards as well with 7.9 and 7.7 rebounds a game respectively. But Open Door will need to find a way to keep pace with the fast tempo that Richmond Heights plays at.

Hercik's pick: Richmond Heights
