Richmond Tourism's Lori Murphy-Tatum elected president of state's Visitors Bureau Association

Jan. 8—Richmond Tourism's Executive Director has added another title on top of her already existing title.

Lori Murphy-Tatum has been elected president of the Kentucky Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus (KACVB) for 2024. She will serve for the year and conclude her appointment in December.

According a press release from Richmond Tourism, Murphy-Tatum took office at the December 15th meeting in Henderson, KY.

Murphy-Tatum is coming up on a big milestone at Richmond Tourism this year as well, she has served as Richmond Tourism's Executive Director since March of 2004.

"I am deeply honored to have been chosen to lead the Kentucky Association of Convention and Visitors Bureau," Murphy-Tatum said in the release.

She said she's excited to work other the other convention and visitor bureaus along with working alongside industry stakeholder to show off the history, beauty and hospitality of Kentucky.

KACVB works with sister organizations such as the Kentucky Department of Tourism, Kentucky Travel Industry Association, Kentucky Restaurant Association, Kentucky Hotel Association, and the Kentucky Marina Association.

Murphy-Tatum won't be alone on the executive side of things, other members of tourism boards from nearby counties are also in office. Other executive officers for 2024 include Vice President Lori Saunders from Georgetown/Scott County Tourism and Secretary Michelle Allen from Somerset-Pulaski CVB.
