Five-time PGA Tour winner Rickie Fowler headlines the field for Monday’s 36-hole U.S. Open sectional qualifier at The Club at Admiral’s Cove in Jupiter.

The Jupiter resident missed last year’s U.S. Open for the first time since turning professional because he didn’t qualify. Fowler was runner-up at the U.S. Open in 2015 – the year he finished in the top five in the four majors – and was fifth in 2011. He’s No. 135 in the latest rankings.

Jupiter’s Matthew Wolff, who was runner-up to Bryson DeChambeau at the 2020 U.S. Open and tied for 15th last year, also is in the field. Wolff recently dropped out of the top 50 (he’s 64th).

Another notable, European Ryder Cup stalwart Lee Westwood, was listed in the tee times but recently withdrew, the USGA confirmed Friday. Westwood, who has five top-10 finishes in the U.S. Open, is committed to play in the first event of the LIV Golf Invitational Series that starts Thursday in London.

West Palm Beach native Chase Koepka, who also will play next week in London, is in Monday’s sectional field as well.

Other area players in the field: Steve Marino of Tequesta, amateur Joe Latowski and Fred Biondi of Port St. Lucie, Tyler Collet of Vero Beach, Brett Stegmaier of Palm Beach Gardens and Andrew McCain and Cory Sciupider of Jupiter.

The qualifier will be played on the North and West Courses at Admiral’s Cove. The 78 players likely will be playing for three or four spots, but the final number has yet to be determined by the USGA.

Jupiter residents Lucas Glover, the 2009 U.S. Open champion, former world No. 1 Luke Donald, Patrick Rodgers and Denny McCarthy are playing at a sectional in Columbus, Ohio. Two-time PGA Tour winner Jim Herman of Palm City is entered at Springfield, Ohio.

Moreover, Curtis Thompson of Boynton Beach is playing in a sectional in Canada, and his brother, Nick, is entered at Rockville, Maryland, and Jupiter's Richy Werenski is entered in Roswell, Georgia.

The U.S. Open is June 16-19 at The Country Club in Brookline, Mass.
