Gervais also stared in the series as the bumbling boss, David Brent.

Netflix has announced they will be removing the Steve Carell version of the show from the streaming platform in 2021.

Gervais was also asked about being a comedian in today's sensitive climate.

He wasn't too worried and said, "I think it is, i love that people say that you can't say what you want anymore, you can say it, you can say it, you might be criticized for it, but it's up to you wether you can or not."

Gervais is currently on a comedy tour, and explained to us that he has already started in the UK with over 50 shows before heading stateside next year.

The comic will be airing his show on Netflix, and admitted "they have already bought it so I can say whatever the f*** I want."

Gervais and Netflix have a great relationship on multiple projects, and the streaming giant also just renewed "After Life" for Season 2.

“I have never had a reaction like this before. It’s been insane. And heartwarming. But now I have to make sure the second season is even better so I’ll probably have to work much harder than usual. Annoying really, “ said Gervais.
