Ricky Martin, Jwan Yosef reach divorce settlement less than 2 months after split
Ricky Martin has reached a divorce settlement with Jwan Yosef less than two months after the couple announced their split.
The “Livin’ La Vida Loca” singer, 51, and Yosef, 38, entered into an uncontested written agreement, the details of which have not been made public, according to documents obtained by TMZ Thursday.
Martin and the Syrian-born Swedish painter released a joint statement in early July to announce the end of their six-year marriage.
“We have decided to end our marriage with love, respect and dignity for our children and honoring what we have experienced as a couple all these wonderful years,” read the statement to People.
Together, Martin and Yosef share daughter Lucia, 4, and son Renn, 3, who they said they will co-parent in order to uphold “a healthy family dynamic.”
Separately, Martin has 15-year-old twin sons Matteo and Valentino, who were born via surrogate in 2008.
Martin and Yosef met on Instagram and went public as a couple in the spring of 2016. They announced their engagement that fall and tied the knot in 2018.
Their divorce announcement came roughly a year to the day after Martin’s nephew, then 21-year-old Dennis Yadiel Sanchez, accused him of domestic violence and incest. Sanchez said the latter allegations stemmed from a months-long relationship between the two, though he quickly withdrew the claims.
Martin dismissed the allegations as “completely false” and “devastating,” and shortly after sued Sanchez for $20 million.
