Ridgeview Baptist completes playground

Nov. 27—DANVILLE — A new playground has been constructed at Ridgeview Baptist Church.

Earlier this month, on Nov. 5, Ridgeview Baptist Church, 3838 N. Vermilion St., dedicated and had a ribbon cutting ceremony after church service of the church's new community "Playground for Kids."

The playground is located on the east side of the church.

In June, Pastor Kevin Mimms and Youth Pastor Kenneth McCoy announced a dream to build a "Playground for Kids" at the church. Their goal was to raise $35,000 to build the playground.

After sales of donated items and numerous parishioner donations, the goal was met and the dream became a reality.

"Playground for Kids" was built by Playground Boss and their installers.

Ridgeview Baptist Church hopes that all children enjoy a place to play for years to come.

Ridgeview Baptist Church welcomes the public to see the playground and to attend Sunday Service starting at 10:15 a.m., with a welcome center prior to service.

"Come as you are, you will be loved," is the church motto.
