Ridgewood BOE Notes

WEST LAFAYETTE − Ridgewood Local Schools Board of Education recently met to conduct routine business of the district.

Zane Cunningham addressed the board on support for a high school boys soccer program. He was referred to the athletic director to present a tentative plan based on participation and funding for the upcoming school year.

Commendations and congratulations were given to seniors Jesse Maple for being a state wrestling contender for three years and Kelly Masloski for being an All-Ohio special mention for girls basketball.

Clarification for hours worked were given for bus driver and para pro Darcy Brickles. A retirement notice was received from elementary principal Lori Cabot, effective May 31. Gary Webster resigned as a bus driver and Christy Nelson was hired as a bus driver.

College Credit Plus agreements were approved with Stark State College, Kenyon College, Muskingum University and Columbus State. An agreement with the Muskingum Valley Educational Service Center for services was approved. A discussion was had on open enrollment policy and the number of involved students.

The next regular meeting will be on April 20 with a special board meeting set for 8 a.m. March 31 at the administrative center.
