Rihanna’s “no-makeup” makeup tutorial is just what you need for your next Zoom meeting
When Rihanna is spilling her beauty secrets, we turn up the volume and listen. This week, she posted a summer makeup tutorial to YouTube, but we think it’s the perfect “no-makeup” look for your next Zoom call. It gives you “I woke up like this” vibes, but you still get to play with fun Fenty Beauty makeup while you’re in quarantine.
“This is one of my favorite looks, and I’ve been rocking it for a minute now: no-makeup makeup look,” Rihanna says in her tutorial video.
She starts with foundation already applied to her face. From there, she features two key Fenty Beauty products in various applications: Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Blush and Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Bronzer. As for using a brush or your fingers to apply? Well, there’s some debate.
“A brush is usually a lot more convenient for me because I’m always in a rush. Like, makeup and out,” Rihanna says. However, she notes that her friend Jennifer Rosales, who’s offscreen in the video, prefers using her fingers. Whatever you choose, start with the bronzer as a contour. Rihanna uses “Hunnie Glaze” and “Amber” shades. (“When I get to my forehead, I have to really go in because I have a big forehead, know what I’m saying?” she laughs.)
Next, Rihanna reaches for her blush, which comes in 10 “moods” or shades. She picks “Petal Poppin'” and pats it on in circles for the rosy cheek look. (Though she does show off a purple blush and says, “See, it’s not scary.”) She finishes her no-makeup makeup with a lip gloss and mascara.
“Look at that, boom,” she says when revealing her makeup look. “I wasn’t lying: no fingerprints, no blotches.”
