What better way to ring in the new year than going out with friends and family to celebrate.

Get the champagne ready for when midnight hits and say goodbye to 2022. A variety of places in Sioux Falls are hosting New Year's Eve parties this year, ranging from fireworks shows to bands to a Roaring '20s event. There are even kid-friendly events on the list.

Here's a list of 13 places you can celebrate the start of 2023:

Remedy Brewing Co. '80s-themed NYE Party

401 E. 8th St.

Starting 5 p.m. Saturday, join in this fun '80s-themed party. At 8 p.m., get 80-cent pints of Dakota Class beer until the keg is gone. There will also be other '80s-inspired food specials, new beer and a free champagne toast at midnight. Music is by Complete Weddings and Events DJ.

New Year’s Eve Sobriety Wacipi

515 N. Main Ave

This Pow Wow event, hosted by South Dakota Urban Indian Health, starts 6 p.m. Saturday, with grand entry at 7 p.m. There will be food and special Wacipi T-shirts for purchase, as well as prizes to win throughout the night. According to the Facebook event, “Welcoming in each new year is often celebrated with alcohol and bars, but we know our relatives need healthy support and community." Dancers can register online.

New Year's Eve celebration at Great Bear

5901 E. Rice Street

Weather permitting, Great Bear is open for skiing, snowboarding and tubing from 9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. with discounted rates after 5 p.m.. A fireworks show from the top of the ski hill begins at midnight. For more information, go to the Facebook event page.

Skate City New Year's Party

2901 W. 3rd St.

Skate City is hosting two events: one in the daytime and one at night, for the whole family to enjoy. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., partake in skating with special games, glow specials, free party favors and a balloon drop filled with prizes at noon. Admission is $15 and includes skate rental. The evening party is from 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. with the balloon drop at midnight. Admission for the evening is $20.

Black and White NYE Party at Bin201

201 E. 11th St.

The Bin201 and Stogeez Cigar Lounge are hosting a Black and White party for New Year's. There will be drink specials, light hor d'oeuvres, music by DJ Dontai and free champagne at midnight. The event goes from 7 p.m. to a little after 12 a.m. and is free to attend.

New Year's Eve show at The Thirsty Duck

945 S. Marion Rd

The Thirsty Duck bar and grill regularly hosts live music concerts, and New Year's Eve is no different. Catch Rock n Roll Damnation, an AC/DC tribute band, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., and celebrate with friends over food, pool and darts. There is no admission fee.

The Shriners' New Year's Eve Party

510 S. Phillips Ave.

The El Riad Shrine in Sioux Falls is having a Steel Drums New Year's Eve party at 6 p.m. The opening concert act is Last Call Band, who will perform at 7 p.m. The Ron Keel Band will then play an extend show at 9 p.m. with an intermission and a free meet-and-greet. Tickets start at $25 and can be purchased online.

Early NYE Celebration at Dave & Buster's

2690 S. Lorraine Pl

If you don't want to stay up all night to watch the ball drop, head over the Dave & Buster's for an early celebration between 4 and 7 p.m. The evening will include "mouthwatering food, thrilling arcade games [and] fun for the whole family." A special video countdown and ginger ale toast is at 6 p.m. Admission for the event is required. More information can be found online.

New Year's Eve celebration at the Ramada

1301 W. Russell St.

This event is great for kids and adults. There will be a DJ, games, activities like face painting and a ball drop in addition to food and drinks. The kid party runs from 5 to 9 p.m. and is $15 for children 12 and under. The event for adults will go from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., and the admission is $50. People can call the hotel for more information.

Wileys' NYE '23 Gatsby Night

330 N. Main Ave.

Wileys is bringing back the Roaring '20s this New Year’s Eve, Great Gatsby style. The event goes from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. There will be “lavish drink specials, luxurious red-carpet” photo walkway and a champagne toast at midnight. The DJ starts at 9 p.m. Booths and lounge spots are available for reservation.

NYE Jam Session at Full Circle Book Co-op

123 W. 10th St.

This New Year's Eve party will feature an open mic jam session from 8 to 9:30 p.m. with DJ Abbie Day taking over after. There will be drink specials and a complimentary glass of bubbly served at the countdown. The event goes until 2 a.m..

New Year's Eve at PAve

130 S. Phillips Ave.

The popular downtown bar is holding a New Year's Eve event with the DJ starting at 10 p.m. There will also be a coat check near the doors, a free photo booth and champagne specials all night long. More information can be found online.

Icon's Annual NYE Party

402 N. Main Ave.

Party into the new year at DaDa Gastropub from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. The event, hosted by ICON Events, is for folks 21 and older, and will feature the band Therapy Funk. Their music is a blend of funk, EDM, live band and remixed tracks. Presale tickets are $15 and day-of tickets are $20. More details can be found online.
