The Rings of Power star Maxim Baldry has teased plenty of action in the upcoming second season of the Prime Video fantasy series.

Speaking to Variety at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival alongside fellow castmates Owain Arthur, Cynthia Addai-Robinson and Lloyd Owen, the actor gave fans a hint at what's to come.

"I'd say it’s a little more action-packed. There's a lot more action," he said, while Arthur added: "Yeah, it is certainly quicker and there’s more happening."

Most of the plot still remains tightly under wraps, but Arthur did share that the characters will all face a "moral dilemma" following the emergence of Sauron in season one's finale.

"Darkness has fallen. Let's say that. We're all going through a big journey in season two. We know that Sauron is here," he said.

"What happens when that amount of evil is finally realised? Each person throughout the universe, throughout Tolkien’s world, is going to be affected by that. There’s always going to be a human choice as to what happens when you’re introduced to evil.

"Everyone is going to be faced with a dilemma, a moral dilemma, and there are going to be some really difficult choices for each human to take."

His comments echo that of executive producer Lindsey Weber, who recently revealed that the upcoming episodes will be "scarier" and "more intense" than the first season.

"Season two is fundamentally different in that our main villain is out and about, and doing his thing. I think in some ways, it's going to grittier, more intense, maybe a little scarier," she told Deadline.
