Rise & Shine! I’m Scott Barrett, managing editor for The Daily News, and today is May 11, the 131st day of the year — 234 days remain in 2022. On this day in 1969, a British comedy troupe consisting of Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin formed. It called itself Monty Python.

Here & Now

• Back in December, a devastating fire at Hinckley Yacht Services in Portsmouth resulted in the total loss of a superyacht and another large sailboat. We recently followed up with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to see if there were any infractions.

According to Ted Fitzgerald, regional director for public affairs with the U.S. Department of Labor, the company operating Hinckley committed four "serious violations" in relation to the use of flammable liquids and respiratory protection. Read the full story here.

• Two mothers from Portsmouth are raising funds to rehabilitate the playground on Turnpike Avenue and make the facility inclusive to all. Read more here.

• Rather than watch the game from his usual spot along the chain-link fence, sports reporter Steve Rogers wanted to get a different angle when he attended a recent high school baseball game between Middletown and East Greenwich. So he sat in the Islanders' dugout and took notes on the sights and sounds. Read his story here.

Trivia answer

Q: In February 2009, a proposal that would have allowed these to be stationed overnight at Easton’s Beach was pulled from consideration because of overwhelming opposition from residents. What were they?

A: Recreational vehicles. Fees would have been collected from RV owners to park overnight, but the proposed ordinance was pulled before it ever got to a vote, with one resident saying it was the "worst idea" she'd ever heard in her life.

Kudos to Arlene Siderski, David Behan, Anne Sherman, Len Panaggio, Eileen Pollina and Diane Macedo, all of whom answered correctly.
