Rise & Shine! I’m Scott Barrett, digital editor for The Daily News, and today is Nov. 29, the 333rd day of the year — 32 days remain in 2021. On this day in 1963, the Warren Commission, led by Chief Justice Earl Warren, was established to investigate the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. It took 10 months before it was determined Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone.

Here & Now

• Ronald Mckeon had just returned home from church one Sunday afternoon in November when Daily News reporter Laura Damon called him at his Florida home. This was a man who said he’d been raped by a priest when he was 12 years old.

“So your faith persevered?” Damon asked.

“That’s what got me through,” Mckeon said. “I still go because God had nothing to do with what the man did to me.”

Mckeon, 44, says he’s a victim of former priest James Silva, 81, who served in multiple parishes in Newport County. His testimony, he says, is what led a statewide grand jury to charge Silva with 11 counts of child molestation.

“I was 12 years old," Mckeon told Damon. "My mom was in what’s called lay ministry, she was becoming a lay minister for the church. It’s a four-year night course,” Mckeon said. When his mother divorced, Mckeon said she had no one to look after her son while she was in class.

“Father Silva suggested, ‘Just bring him with you and, you know, I’ll take care of him while you’re in class.’ So that’s how everything started.”

• As we found out on Thanksgiving, Tiverton High School football coach Bob Murray has made a tremendous impact the lives on many young men during his 40-year run as head coach of the Tigers. Past players over the decades — from the 1980s to the 2020s — spoke to The Daily News to talk about what Murray meant to them and the program. Read more here.

• Have you ever tried to bike from the East Main Road to West Main Road in Middletown? It's not exactly easy. Father Thomas O'Neill, who has lived in town on and off for the past 50 years, has a proposal to make the area more friendly for cyclists. Reporter Savana Dunning has the story.

• Providence Journal reporter Antonia Nooni Farzan has a really great breakdown on how each municipality in Rhode Island is using its American Relief Plan Act funds, including in Newport County. Read it here.

• The New England Patriots stomped the Tennessee Titans 36-13 on Sunday. Kudos to Chris Vorro, whose prediction of a 21-10 Pats win was the closest we had. Thanks to everyone who emailed.

• The state Department of Transportation provided its roadwork schedule for the upcoming week in Newport County. Find it here.
