RISING HIGH: Bartlesville gymnasts soar to success at state meet

Bartlesville Gymnastics Club’s Level 8 team is set to storm en masse into the Optional Regional Championships set for April 21-23 in Oklahoma City.

Meanwhile, the BGC also qualified multiple girls for the Level 6 Oklahoma All-Stars squad, which will do battle on April 26-30 in Little Rock, Ark., in the Region 3 All-Stars meet.

The BGC earned these postseason opportunities — and more — during the recent Oklahoma Optional State Championship meet held in Bartlesville.

In the Level 10 competition, all three Bartlesville girls qualified for the Level 10 regionals, set for April 13-16 in Topeka, Kan. The trio includes Raynie Ketcher (Jr. A), Madelyn Stuart (Jr. B) and Isa Highfield (Sr. A.).

The lone BGC Level 9 warrior to make it to the Level 9 regional was Lydia Pierce (Jr. B).

Bartlesville’s Level 8 squad consists of Claira Blazic (Jr. A), Kinlee Littleford (Jr. C), Lyndsey Lief (Sr. A) and Nicole Lickliter (Sr. C).

Bartlesville boasted second place at state in both Level 6 and Level 10.

“What a great showing from all of our Bartlesville gymnastics athletes,” said BGC Executive Director Lorrie Bertolet. “I could not be more pleased with how each athlete performer. It was not perfect … but all in all, we had a terrific weekend. … I am looking forward to all of the regional meets.”

Bertolet praised the work of the girls’ coaches Abi Matthews, Rachel Coyle and Mary Wehmeyer.

BGC All-Around state champions included: Lorelei Weikle (Level 6, Jr. C), Ella Lindesmith (Level 6, Jr. D), Brenlyn Simmons (Level 6, Sr. C), Lyndsey Lief (Level 8, Sr. A) and Lydia Pierce (Level 9, Jr. B).

Following are the All-Around results, and top-three individual finishes, at state for the BGC girls.

RAYNIE KETCHER: All-Around — 3RD (37.825). Vault: 9.45 (3rd), Beam: 9.7 (1st), Floor: 9.425 (3rd).

LEVEL 10 (Jr. B)

MADELYN STUART: All-Around — 3RD (35.424). Vault: 9.25 (2nd), Bars: 8.75 (2nd).

LEVEL 10 (Sr. A)

ISA HIGHFIELD: All-Around — 2ND (35.5). Beam: 9.5 (1st), Floor: 9.4 (1st).

LEVEL 9 (Jr. B)

LYDIA PIERCE: All-Around — 1ST (35.975). Vault: 9.4 (1st), Bars: 8.35 (1st), Beam: 8.8 (3rd), Floor: 9.425 (1st).

LEVEL 9 (Sr. B)

HALLE HIRRLING: All-Around — 5TH (33.225).

LEVEL 9 (Sr. C)

DARA DENNIS: All-Around — 6TH (8.9). Bars: 8.9 (3rd).

LEVEL 8 (Jr. A)

CLAIRA BLAZIC: All-Around — 4TH (36.325).

LEVEL 8 (Jr. C)

KINLEE LITTLEFORD: All-Around — 2ND (37.875). Vault: 9.55 (2nd), Beam: 9.4 (3rd), Floor: 9.5 (1st).

LEVEL 8 (Sr. A)

LYNDSEY LIEF: All-Around — 1ST (36.65). Vault: 8.775 (2nd), Bars: 9.125 (2nd), Beam: 9.6 (1st), Floor: 9.15 (2nd).

LEVEL 8 (Sr. C)

NICOLE LICKLITER: All-Around — 3RD (34.925). Beam: 9.3 (3rd), Floor: 9.5 (1st).

LEVEL 6 (Jr. B)

QUINN SMITH: All-Around — 2ND (38.25). Vault: 9.55 (3rd), Bars: 9.65 (2nd), Floor: 9.65 (2nd).

LEVEL 6 (Jr. C)

LORELEI WEIKLE: All-Around — 1ST (39.225). Vault: 9.925 (1st), Bars: 9.75 (1st), Beam: 9.75 (1st), Floor: 9.8 (1st).

BURKLEE ORPHIN: All-Around — 4TH (38.2).

HAYDEN LITTLEFORD: All-Around — 6TH (37.7). Vault: 9.7 (3rd0.

ELLA LINDESMITH: All-Around — 1ST (38.2). Vault: 9.85 (1st), Floor: 9.725 (1st).

LEVEL 6 (Sr. C)

BRENLYN SIMMONS: All-Around — 1ST (38.45). Vault: 9.575 (2nd), Bars: 9.675 (1st), Beam: 9.45 (2nd), Floor: 9.75 (2nd).
