With rivals stuck in D.C., Biden and Buttigieg blitz Iowa

With the Iowa caucuses just over two weeks away, former Vice President Joe Biden and Pete Buttigieg were just handed a major advantage.

Their main rivals for the first Democratic nominating contest of 2020 must now remain largely in Washington for President Trump's impeachment trial as Senate jurors...

That means U.S. Senators Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and Amy Klobuchar - who would normally be blitzing the midwestern state - will miss most remaining campaign days in the final stretch…while Biden and Buttigieg aggressively campaign in the crucial state...

Although aides to those campaigns wouldn't comment on this unprecedented advantage, newly released schedules reveal an intense on-the-ground push by the candidates

Beginning Friday, Biden will spend nearly every day in the state leading up to the Iowa caucuses on February 3rd, along with his wife Jill campaigning heavily for him...

Meanwhile, Buttigieg's campaign announced a flurry of events blanketing the state next week.. on Monday alone, holding seven town hall events with voters…

And although his not a leading contender in Iowa, entrepreneur Andrew Yang recently announced a 17-day bus tour..

Although the impeachment trial may seem to be putting these Senators at a disadvantage, the lawmakers are not ceding Iowa...

They still plan to campaign in the state when their Senate schedules allow and to possibly send surrogates like Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar - who both campaign for Bernie..

But the impeachment trial however could pose a risk to Biden if Republicans subpoena he or his son Hunter to testify while he tries to win over voters in Iowa…
