WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KTXL) – The Sacramento River Cats hosted the San Francisco Giants at Sutter Health Park on Sunday, and the Triple-A affiliate left the field with bragging rights.

Sacramento won the game, 8-1.

“We are so excited. We came here six years ago with my family so this is just great fun,” said Folsom native Kerri Neidlinger, who was part of the sellout crowd.

It was the 103rd sellout in the 25-year history of the River Cats.

Fans who attended the game saw newcomer Matt Chapman in the lineup for the Giants, as well as Giants legend Pablo Sandoval.

Sandoval entered the game as a pinch hitter, and he was one of four Giants to record a hit.

“Whatever happens on Tuesday, it’s been a blessed time,” said Sandoval about his future with the team. “It’s been an unbelievable journey that I have had with them.”

Rocklin native Logan Webb was also in attendance at Sutter Health Park, but he did not play.

“I came down (Sunday) morning to see my family. I couldn’t miss out on coming out and hanging out,” said Webb.

The River Cats begin their season on Friday against Salt Lake, while the Giants will begin their season on Thursday in San Diego.
