River Ridge approves negotiations to start for three pieces of land

Dec. 18—CLARK COUNTY — River Ridge Development Authority approved Monday for negotiations to start on the sale of three pieces of land at the industrial field.

The first land approved for negotiations is 46.958 acres and will be a site that will be developed.

A piece of undeveloped land that is 14.6 acres will be negotiated in 60 to 180 days so the buyers can put in research to scope the project.

Finally, a piece of undeveloped that is 6.6 acres was approved to be sold. The current price to be negotiated with the buyers is $135,000.

"The ones we approved today are basically speculative development," said Jerry Acy, River Ridge Development Authority's executive director. "So those are not associated with an actual end-user."

The buildings will be developed with no company coming into them immediately. The buildings are to motivate companies to come to River Ridge and buy the ready-to-use buildings.

Some negotiations have started with some of the buyers, but none are official yet. The purchase agreements have to be ready and other technicalities for the purchase have to be worked out.

"We're just happy to have those types of developments come in here," Acy said. "Most of the developments here have been on a speculative basis to start with. As a result, having available existing industrial buildings gives you an advantage when you're trying to attract companies."

With these new developments, the industrial field will have new buildings that are 6,000 to 700,000 square feet in size.
