River Ridge/Scales Mound sweeps NUIC high school boys and girls golf titles

Thomas Hereau shot 80 and Isaac Rife 85 at Woodbine to lead River Ridge/Scales Mound to the NUIC boys golf title. RR/SM shot 342 to edge Fulton by four strokes for the title. Galena was third at 351.

East Dubuque (367), Stockton (374), Amboy (387), Forreston (389), Eastland/Milledgeville (394) and Durand/Pecatonica (395) rounded out the top nine.

Fulton’s London Meyers (77), Galena’s Ryan Stoffregen (78) and East Dubuque’s Jacob Lange (78) were the only golfers to break 80. Top Freeport-area players were Jared Dvorak, who led Stockton with an 83 and placed seventh, Pecatonica/Durand's Evan Folk, who placed eighth with an 85, and Forreston's Kaden Brown, who finished 10th with an 87.

NUIC girls

River Ridge/Scales Mound completed a sweep by also winning the girls NUIC title, shooting 421 at Woodbine to beat Galena by 18 strokes. Polo finished third in the seven-team field with a 455 and Lena-Winslow fourth at 479.

RR/SM’s Celia Turner, RR/SM (94), Polo’s Kamryn Stockton (95) and RR/SM’s Rori Distler (98) were the only golfers to break 100.
