Victim of apparent homicide in Palm Desert identified as Jean Grace Willrich, 93

Jean Grace Willrich, 93, has been identified by the Riverside County Sheriff's Office as the woman killed in the 77000 block of Michigan Drive in Palm Desert on Tuesday.

The Sheriff's Office said earlier it was investigating the suspicious death and described the circumstances as "consistent with a homicide."

Palm Desert station sheriff's deputies responded to the residence around 12:55 p.m. on Tuesday.

When deputies arrived, they found Willrich suffering from trauma to her body, the department said in a press release. The scene was secured, and the Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation.
