Riverwalk fight leaves two people injured, at least one of them sliced with a box cutter, police say

A man was arrested Sunday night on suspicion of stabbing another man with a box cutter after a dispute turned physical along the Riverwalk in the Loop, according to Chicago police.

Officers were called to Wacker Drive just east of State Street at 7:30 p.m., police said in a statement. Two men had been arguing when one of them, 37, pulled a box cutter and swung it at the other, 29, cutting him.

Each man suffered “only minor injuries,” police spokeswoman Sally Bown wrote in an email. Both men were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Bown said the report did not include information on what type of injuries the 37-year-old may have suffered or how he was injured.

Authorities later arrested the 37-year-old and police said charges were pending against him.
