The road to Breslin Center begins for Greater Lansing boys basketball teams. Here's what to know.

Greater Lansing had one boys basketball team end March by hoisting the state championship trophy on the Breslin Center floor last year.

Will there be another this season?

The state tournament journey gets started for area boys teams Monday as all fight to reach the Breslin Center.

Olivet and Laingsburg are the only area teams entering the state tournament ranked in the top 10 of their divisions in the Associated Press poll, while Waverly, Okemos, Mason and Ovid-Elsie were among those receiving votes. Laingsburg is the area's only remaining unbeaten team.

Here's a look at the districts involving area teams.

Division 1 at St. Johns

Waverly emerged at the top of a strong CAAC Blue and will now try to add to that success in the state tournament. The Warriors (17-5) are among the top seeds in a district featuring several of the other top teams in the CAAC Blue. Waverly leads a field that includes all teams with winning records. East Lansing (12-9) finished third in the CAAC Blue and was one of the area's hottest teams with wins in eight of its final 10 games.

DeWitt (15-7) and Grand Ledge (15-7) followed in the CAAC Blue standings, while St. Johns (12-8) had a strong bounce-back season this winter while placing third in the CAAC Red. DeWitt opens against East Lansing, who it swept in the regular season. One of the Panthers' wins over the Trojans came in five overtimes.

Division 1 at Holt

Mason has put together one of its best seasons in program history, reaching 20 wins for just the second time and claiming the outright CAAC Red title. The Bulldogs (20-2) join CAAC Blue runner-up Okemos (18-4) as the top seeds in this strong district. Mason enters the tourney without one of its big pieces with junior Luke Marlan sidelined with an ACL injury.

Okemos, which is the top seed, has had gotten contributions from veterans and youth. Freshman KJ Torbert has been the Wolves' top scorer. Jackson (17-5) tied for the SEC White title with Chelsea and joins Holt (13-9) and Jackson Northwest as the other teams with winning records in the district. Everett (2-20) is also in the field.

Division 2 at Eastern

GLAC champion Olivet has spent all season ranked in the top 10 in Division 2 and opened the season with 20 straight wins before a loss to Division 1 Saline. The Eagles (21-1) hope to now find success in the postseason as one of the top seeds in this district. CAAC White champion Charlotte (15-7) is the other top seed and captured its first league title since 1992 this winter. The Orioles went from last in the CAAC White a year ago to going 9-1 in league play. Sexton (12-9) finished third in the CAAC White and is the other team with a winning record in the field. CAAC Red runner-up Eastern (10-11), Lansing Catholic (7-14) and Eaton Rapids (0-22) are also in the field.

Division 2 at Williamston

Southeastern Conference White champion Chelsea and Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard are the top seeds in this district hosted by defending state champion Williamston. The area teams in this district field are all from the CAAC Red — the host Hornets (6-16), Haslett (6-16) and Fowlerville (3-17). Pinckney (6-16) is also in the field.

Division 2 at Ada Forest Hills Eastern

Ionia fell a game short in its bid to win a league title, coming up short due to an overtime loss to Sexton in their CAAC White finale. The Bulldogs (17-5) will now try to claim a district title and are on of the top seeds in a field featuring five teams with winning records. No. 6-ranked Grand Rapids Christian is the other top seed. Lakewood (12-10) and Portland (9-12) are the other area teams in a field that also includes Ada Forest Hills Eastern (16-6) and West Michigan Aviation Academy (13-8).

Division 2 at Chesaning

Corunna (16-6) finished in a three-way tie atop the Flint Metro League Stars and is one of the top seeds for this district that also includes GAC runner-up Flint Hamady (16-4) and Mid-Michigan Activities Conference tri-champion Chesaning (17-5). Owosso (0-21) is the other area team in a field that also includes Mt. Morris (11-11).

Division 2 at Central Montcalm

Alma (12-9) is the only area team in the field and is one of the top seeds after taking fourth in the TVC 10-2. The Panthers face either Howard City Tri-County (7-14) or Central Montcalm (4-15) in their Wednesday semifinal. Shepherd (18-4) is the other top seed and Belding (4-18) rounds out the field.

Division 3 at New Lothrop

No. 2-ranked Laingsburg (21-0) begins the state tournament as a top title contender and won each of their games by double digits in the regular season. The CMAC champion Wolfpack are joined as a top seed in the district by MMAC champion Ovid-Elsie, who it beat by 12 on the road in late January. Ovid-Elsie (17-4) and Laingsburg are the only teams in the field with winning records. Bath (7-13), Perry (8-13), New Lothrop (10-12) and Byron (3-18) round out the field.

Division 3 at Springport

GLAC runner-up Leslie and Stockbridge are among the top contenders and the are only teams with winning records in this district. Leslie (16-6) owns two wins over Stockbridge (12-8) and also owns wins over two other teams in the district — Springport (1-21) and Dansville (10-11). Potterville (10-12) is also in the field.

Division 3 at Ithaca

Mid-State Activities Conference runner-up Carson City-Crystal (17-5) closed the regular season with eight wins in its final nine games and is one of the top seeds. Blanchard Montabella (19-2) won the MSAC title and is the other top seed. Ithaca (9-13) is the only other area team in the field that also includes Morley Stanwood (6-13), Lakeview (5-16) and St. Louis (6-15).

Division 3 at Pewamo-Westphalia

CMAC runner-up Pewamo-Westphalia (15-6) is among the top title contenders in this district along with OK Conference Silver runner-up Grand Rapids NorthPointe Christian (15-7). P-W and NorthPointe Christian are the only teams with wining marks in a district that includes Grand Rapids Wellsprings Prep (5-16), Saranac (4-18) and Maple Valley (5-17).

Division 4 at Lansing Christian

Host Lansing Christian and Fowler lead the field for this district. Lansing Christian (13-9) finished tied for fourth as the smallest school in the seven-team GLAC and beat Fowler during the regular season. Fowler (12-9) finished third in the CMAC. Fulton (11-11) is the other team that is .500 or better in a district that also includes Portland St. Patrick (6-14) and Ashley (0-22).

Division 4 at Morrice

Webberville (10-12) won five of six to end the regular season and joins Morrice (2-18) as the only area teams in this district. Genesee Christian (16-5) and Dryden (13-9) are the top seeds in a field that also features Burton CenterPoint Christian (9-5).
